Asherah is a sweet, but shy, little girl. She was rescued from a high kill shelter, along with 6 puppies, in late November of 2018. Only 2 of the puppies belonged to the young mommy, the other 4 were orphans who were placed with her in the shelter. The puppies have now all grown up and been adopted and Asherah has been transforming from an absolutely terrified shelter dog into the sweet, comical, playful girl she now is. She still finds it a little hard to trust, especially men, but after you win her heart she will be a very devoted and loyal pup. She is around 18 months old, crate and potty trained, and she loves to play with any toy or ball you happen to have lying around. She was a heroine in the shelter, taking on a family of pups who were not hers, and now she is looking for someone to be her hero/heroine and bring her into their family. She is currently about 25 lbs.
Asherah is in a foster home with other dogs and the school aged children that she does well with. She needs to be in a home with no cats.
While Asherah is heartworm positive, please do not rule her out because of it. She is on the slow approach to treatment which is not as hard on the dog as other treatment options you may have heard of. We will provide medication for this treatment approach for FREE!
Please consider making this adorable girl a member of your family and contact us to arrange to meet him. More information about the adoption process and an adoption application can be found at https://almosthomepetrescue.org
$150 adoption fee includes core vaccinations, rabies vaccination, heart worm test (in dogs over 6 months of age), microchip and registration, spay/neuter, wormer and flea and heart worm prevention while the dog is in our care. All breed and size categorizations are estimates.
