You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Please consider that many of these dogs have been abandoned, ignored by their previous owners, or turned in to a shelter, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.
When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.
Hi, my name is Axl Rose, and I'm a super handsome four year old GSD who was transferred to FRGSR from a shelter because they were tight on space. I was surrendered to a shelter because my former family didn't feel they had the time for me anymore. I guess I tipped the scales on that decision when I broke out of my crate while they were at work, turned the faucet on and flooded the house. I was having an awesome time playing in the new "indoor pool", but I got in BIG trouble when they got home, and off to the shelter I went. Now I'm starting over looking for a new home. On the brighter side, the folks with FRGSR are pretty impressed with how smart I am and according to shelter reports, I was good with other dogs in my last home. I'm a big boy who needs some work on my leash manners (I pull a lot), but I sure enjoy getting out to sniff the fresh winter air. Also, I need work on introductions with people, because I will likely bark at them in the beginning and the folks at FRGSR don't want this to escalate. Since I'm capable of escaping a crate, I may do best with someone who isn't gone for long periods of time. As you might guess, I need a good dose of daily exercise and I'd love to join in on outdoor adventures. More info to come. If I do end up in a home with another dog, my foster mom says I'll do better with a female dog than male. My adoption fee is $350.
Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, not all the animals you see may be available.
