Red and Blu were saved by a stranger……..wandering the streets in an area of North Carolina the family found them alone. The boys were left with a box. From what people around said they had been there awhile and everyone just left them. This family took them in and began caring for them while looking for a rescue or a no kill shelter that would take them. No “no kill” was found in their area of NC and so they reach out to our rescue…..and, because HOUNDS are a favorite of mine I could not say “no”. Add to that the photo of them skinny and starved….who “just leaves them alone” when they see this?
Both boys were heart worm positive and are currently being treated by our vet in NC. From there, made healthy, then treated and brought current on all vaccines and neutered the boys will make their way to the first adopter or foster available.
In the mean time, they are weighing in at around 40lbs (need to be fattened up) and both have very easy mild going temperaments. They don’t seem to know any commands how to behave on the leash. They most likely will need some general curbing to make gentlemen out of them but they have lots of elements that make them a good dog and a suitable candidate for obedience training.”
