The Chronicles of Cisco. A happy, healthy, fun dog… Through no fault of his own… He finds himself looking for a furever home for the 6th time in three years. Cisco’s first dad adopted him from a shelter as a half grown pup. He had a good life, visited the beach often and got to travel. But his dad died of Cancer. So Cisco was given to a young man that was a friend to his dad. Fast fwd… a kind man and his daughter saw a truck speeding away from a dog… That dog was Cisco. This is where we came in. We got the call because the man couldn’t keep Cisco (as much as he wanted to). We took him in and had him scanned.. He was chipped and we tracked his microchip… Found out about his first dad.. And found his 2nd dad. His second dad said he had “given him away” recently and gave us permission to re-home Cisco. We listed him for adoption and found him a wonderful young couple. They took him to the beach and he was their beloved companion for some time. The ownership of their condo changed hands and a weight restriction was placed on pets. As a result they had to bring Cisco back. The man who had found Cisco was able to adopt him! It all seems so perfect. He has been living with that man and his little girl for the last year and everything was going pretty good until recently. That family is experiencing some hardships as they go through divorce. They have been doing everything they can to try to hold on to Cisco, but the stress level is high. Last night, the little girl grabbed him by his face to give him a kiss and he snapped at her. He was feeling irritated and grumpy, his intent was not to hurt her. But he did hurt her. He caught her lip and she had to get stitches. Understandably, the parents connected with us and asked us to please find Cisco a new home. So there you have it. The Chronicles of Cisco. Such a happy loving dog. Juggled and misplaced so many times. He does good with other dogs and he loves children. He has boundaries and is sometimes a little bit anxious in certain situations. Even the parents in this situation are shocked this has happened and do not blame the dog. Please share Cisco’s story. He is fixed, on HW preventative and fully vetted. PLEASE understand that, despite his love for children, we will not be placing him in a home with small/young children. @ Ocala, Florida
