Devon Blue is a beautiful pure bred Blue Heeler girl who was born deaf, but don’t tell her that. It truly does not slow her down at all. She does everything all the other dogs do and even better. She is true to her breed and Devon has the Heeler trait to stay by your side, which will be helpful training her with hand signals. She demands your attention, so if you think you can play on your phone, she will be right there barking at you to play with her and to give her some of your time.
Devon Blue is not a couch potato, she wants to be by your side and entertain you with her desire to exercise and have fun. She is about 1 year old and weighs 32 lbs, a very nice size for a Blue Heeler. In her current foster home she has 4 other dogs to play with, and usually her and the 3 younger ones take turns running and wrestling. We are not sure that she will leave cats alone, but she might. She seems a bit too interested in them to chase at the moment. Devon came from an elderly couple who learned she was deaf and just could not keep her as they were afraid she would chase their cows and could not be controlled. This girl will live a long and productive life if she has a fenced yard to help keep her safe when outside. This will be a must for her new home and family, as being deaf means she has no recall. A securely fenced yard is mandatory for this girl. Of course she will still love walks on the leash, but needs the fence in order to get the exercise she needs.
