Hattrick, or as I have called her "Hattie", is what is known as a "Llewellin Setter", that is a field dog. These are typically used for upland bird hunting. Hattie has never been field trained, but demonstrates significant skills for pointing. She is the fourth English setter I have had. The other two were what are known as "Laverack" setters or bench/show dogs. The difference is not significant except that typically the field dogs need more exercise. Hattie is atypical as my other setters needed more exercise than she does. She is well trained, house trained and stays inside a good portion of the day, without any "accidents". She is a wonderful dog and I adore her but unfortunately I am relocatiing in several months and need to find a place for her to live with a family or owner who will love her.
She is very people focused and will follow you around. These dogs are fantastic with children in my experience. I have had three English setters and two children.
