To Diamond Dogs Rescue sometimes its just about making their final years warm and safe and about giving them some happiness- A good quality of life for the time that is left.
Precious Jewel was discarded like yesterday’s trash. She was taken by her owner to a shelter to have her “disposed of”. She is blind and after pulling her we learned she is diabetic and had pyometra. We did not know this when we took her, our thought was to save a blind senior knowing how scary being in a loud and frightening shelter can be…but, it was obvious to us she wanted to just be happy and content for the balance of her life and we were determined to see that happen. Jewel was not ready to give up living in spite of the lack of care for her. And so, months with our vet under her personal care, brought Jewel to a level where we were able to transport her to her foster family in New England.
Right now our foster mom has set up routing and learned all it takes to care for Jewel. When we find a home that will be happy to give her a safe and warm landing for her final time on earth, they will know just what it takes.
This is about the quality at her later stage in life…..She is a warm loving dog who appreciates her human. You can learn more about her story with pictures and videos at:
