Facts About Me
Saved by CSEA Super Bowl Pool!
CSEA #6748 decided to do a transport because we love what Joyful Rescues does in giving dogs and cats a chance at a loving home. We truly believe in the motto ‘adopt, don’t shop’. Some of our members have adopted from JR and we love our Ivy and Ralphie! Officers of the union decided to have some fun with a Super Bowl pool with some of the money going to JR for a transport. It’s really important to us to be able to help such a great rescue. We can’t wait to see the dogs make their way to WNY! Thank you CSEA #6748 – here they are:
John Henry was born about June 9, 2017 and weighs 15 lbs. His ear hair was a bit out of control upon arrival and had to be trimmed some, but he is still super cute! This boy SNUGGLES!!! He is good with other dogs and he’s fine with cats with supervision, but if one runs he will be in pursuit. He will hang with you, off leash, while you do your outside chores. John Henry is good in the car. He entered the shelter as a Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix, the vet went for a Doxie mix, and we have decided we see Papillon and maybe Chihuahua – all guess work for sure. He is doing well with house training as long as you are watchful. When John Henry visited PetSmart he was quite shy at first with all the commotion but became more comfortable throughout the day. He does walk well on leash. This is all we know so far as we will be learning as we go and so will you. The southern shelter doesn’t ask questions on intake as they feel it is embarrassing to the humans dropping off their pets in this poverty stricken area of Virginia.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $475.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control – a ‘complete’ pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive – you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
