Lilly was posted with FOUR other dogs as urgent. As the posting continued for days letting everyone know these dogs were all URGENT….EVERY DOG EXCEPT LILLY WAS PULLED.
NO ONE STEPPED UP. No more chances and she was headed to be euthanized when I was asked if our rescue would take her.
How could I ever live with myself when I KNEW how desperate this girl was? I saw pleading in her eyes “SHE KNEW”
How could I let her be killed because NO ONE….not even a rescue would step up.
How could I let the fact that she was “just another pittie” make the difference in her living or dying?
And so YES, Diamond Dogs Rescue took her in in spite of our HEAVY medical load.
Lilly had a worried temperament initially but settled in with attention and caring. She is currently in NC at our vets office where she will be taken care of until adopted or ready for her foster family. She’s on the smaller size at around 42lbs…and is sweet and unassuming. She does not impose herself on people- as if she’d get in trouble if she did so. She’s gentle and even though scared wants your caress.
