Facts About Me

My Story

Lilly is a sweet, attention loving fur baby who needs a furever home. My husband and I have had a hard time with recognizing that this would best meet the needs of our dog as we are very attached to her. I adopted Lilly when she was 3 months old, and she will be 3 years old in March. She is a mixed breed, and is 50 pounds. I have Wisdom Panel results available. Lilly is good with my older dog and has been around my parent’s dogs as well as dogs at her training classes, and seems to be good with other dogs too. We did have a little trouble with Lilly resource guarding food with my older dog (i.e., she would growl at my older dog to defend the food as hers), but after tips from a dog behavior consult (e.g., feeding both dogs in the crate and keeping both dogs out of the kitchen where food is prepared), Lilly did not have any other issues. We started to have difficulty once our baby became mobile and started walking. Lilly gets too excited and plays too rough with our toddler. We have tried having Lilly gated in an area of our house, but our toddler would open the gate frequently and go to Lilly, and Lilly would get too excited and end up knocking her over. Currently we are having to crate Lilly when our toddler is on the move. At first, this seemed to work, but recently we can tell Lilly is not happy about having to be crated so often. I am currently pregnant with twins and know adding more little ones to Lilly’s environment will not make things any better for her. Lilly is the sweetest most loving dog with her people and would be a great addition to a family with older children or no children, or with someone whom can devote time to walk her and play with her daily. She is a very affectionate dog. She is house trained, has had basic training in commands and loves performing her skills for treats and affection. Lilly is current on vaccinations, receives monthly heart worm and flea prevention, and is very healthy. I have never had to take her to the vet for any illness or allergies. I have her shot records available. I would include her crate, a bag of dog food as well as her left over monthly heart worm and flea prevention. I really want Lilly to find a good home in which her energy and attention needs are met. She is such a sweet fur baby and is a puppy at heart! Lilly is participating in The Love Pit’s iREHOME program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by TLP. All behavior and medical information is provided by their caretaker, and TLP encourages all adopters to verify the information with their caretaker prior to adoption.
