Bella has an amazing story. She was on the lam and lived totally outside for over a year. Some wonderfully kind neighbors fed her and checked on her daily. They even bought a doghouse to help ward off the bitter cold. When a foster finally stepped up, they were able to trap her and get her inside to live the good life. She is now living inside with her foster mom and dad. She is one of the best fosters her foster family has ever had. Bella arrived a little skittish, but with very little emotional baggage. She warms up to people quickly and loves to cuddle. She sleeps on the furniture and will curl up in her own little dog bed at night. She is most likely housebroken, but we cannot guarantee that. Bella the Best is not destructive and we haven’t had to crate her at all. She weighs about 22 pounds and is very smart. She has been amazingly resilient and forgiving of the treatment she must have had in the past. Bella the Best would do best in a home without children or children who are 10 and up. Sudden unpredictable movements might startle her and cause her to be suspicious. Bella prefers people to dogs. She can get along with other dogs (who are not in her space) but she really prefers to be the queen bee. Her only negative is the fact that she is an escape artist. She will need a fenced-in yard and to be taken outside only on a leash for the first few weeks in a new home to give her a chance to bond with her new family.
