Facts About Me
Thank Your Mrs. Schuman and Students!
We are overjoyed to present the Gator Transport! This transport is sponsored by a wonderful class of students from the Allegany School district…Mrs. Schuman writes ‘Our classroom aide has adopted animals and shared with us how transports are done to save the lives of many animals. Students in our classroom love animals and wanted to help.’ Thank you so much to Mrs. Schuman and all of her students!
Rebel was born about November 9, 2016 and weighs about 12 lbs. He is wonderful with all of us and the other dogs. This boy is full of life, happy, fun and funny and when the day of play is done he is a real cuddle bug. We like to mention with these small dogs that they are often hard to house train and may do best with potty floor pads available throughout their lives. Rebel loves bananas! This is all we know so far as the southern kill shelter doesn’t ask questions on intake as they feel it is embarrassing to humans dropping off their dogs in the poverty stricken coal mining town of Grundy, VA. Here is a note from Rebel:
Hello, I just wanted to update you on how life is in a foster home! I have been in my foster home for about 3-4 weeks and I’m loving it! I get lots of cuddles and kisses! I really love to give kisses back, and I could do it all day! I do like other dogs and playing so if there is a dog in my new home that’s great, and if not then that’s ok! I’m too interested in cats to live with any. My foster family has found I’m potty trained and can hold it for a lot longer than most little dogs! If I’m up late at night then that is a sign to take me out as I have had a couple accidents as far as #2. My most favorite thing is food! When my foster people are making dinner I jump up and down continually to see if I’ll get anything! As I am a terrific jumper! During the day my people go to work and I do great in the crate as I just sleep. I am 100% devoted to my people and will be their shadow! A weird quirk about me is I like to be held like a baby sometimes! When I do get excited, whether it’s because someone came home from work, or I see food, I like to mouth on people’s fingers, but don’t worry I don’t bite! Since this occurs small children shouldn’t be in my next home. My people tell me everyday that I’m such a love, and good boy! I really am looking forward to be able to call a place my own.
The Adoption Fee for this dog is $375.00.
Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control – a ‘complete’ pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.
Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive – you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility.
YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES
We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.
