You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Please consider that many of these dogs have been abandoned, ignored by their previous owners, or turned in to a shelter, having little interaction with someone who cares about them.
When adopted, they will need time to adjust to the changes in their life.
Hi, my name is Smokey Bandit, and I'm a handsome two year old GSD who was transferred to FRGSR from a shelter where my former owner surrendered me because I kept escaping from a crate and causing issues. Recently, I decided I'd had enough of being confined for long hours and it was payback time, so I broke out and I ate the couch. Then, even though I'm house trained, I wanted to finish with a bang, so I left a smelly "gift" on the kitchen floor to drive my point home. I put myself back in my crate and gave my owner an innocent grin when he got home hoping he'd blame the other dog. My plan backfired, so now I'm looking for a new home. I'm really a good boy who loves other dogs (after a controlled introduction) and most people, but kids make me nervous. I'll need a home with someone who isn't gone for long periods of time plus a canine companion to keep me company. I'm looking for someone who can provide me with leadership and exercise while continuing to work on my training. My adoption fee is $350. More info to come. If you are interested, please submit an online application at adoptagsd.org.
Although we do our best to keep our adoptable animals page as current as possible, not all the animals you see may be available.
We get dogs often, so get your application in, and we will do our best to match the best dog to you and your circumstances.
