Thank you Warner-Smith Family!
From the Warner-Smith Family: ‘I am so grateful for all the work that Joyful Rescues does to save the dogs and cats from the high kill shelters in the South. I adopted my dog Rusty from Joyful Rescues four years ago and he is a blessing.’ There are so many animals in need and your organization does a fantastic job of bringing them up to New York to give them a second chance. You also do a great job making sure the pets only go to respon sible families.’
Timmy Dog was born about May 21, 2015 and weighs about 55 lbs. He came to us pretty much a ragamuffin. His fur was a mess, he had a skin infection on one hip, he was truly a mess and looked so pathetic and unloved. Well, no more, skin is healing, he’s had likely the first bath in his life and he is realizing he is loved now and he loves it!!! If you are funny with him he swirls and runs around and almost knocks you down from excitement! We SO wants to be loved!!! These are the dogs you feel sorriest for…the ones that realized how crappy their lives were and then you see it in their eyes…they get that they were saved and life is going to be different from now on!!!! Timmy Dog is clearly a Shar-Pei mix judging from those adorable chubby cheeks of his, but the rest of him is very mixed with maybe part Lab or a bunch of other things that caused him to be AMAZING! Timmy love everyone he meets! He does pull some on leash and will benefit from a harness. Dr. Rasnake made note that there was some tarter on his teeth, but we feel it’s not to the point where he needs a dental. If he were our own dog we would not risk anesthesia at this time. We are so glad we were able to save this boy from certain death! This is all we know so far as we will be learning as we go and so will you. The southern shelter doesn’t ask questions on intake as they feel it is embarrassing as so often the reason is financial in this poverty stricken coal mining town of VA.
